Really enjoyed listening to all 4 CD ‘s with great job done on the remastering as sound quality is excellent. First time I’ve heard Cold Sweat, Man of Steel & Souls unknown. Would like to know if Jeff Porcaro played on these 3 tracks, his drumming on The Crossing was sublime and he is still sadly missed by a lot of musicians!

Yes, it’s Jeff Porcaro: absolutely blinding on Souls Unknown! I remember Don Was saying, ‘if we get Jeff we won’t need another drummer on anything, he’ll slam everything’. and he was right

I assume that’s Paul who answered that? so many thanks for answering, JP is a bit of a musical hero of mine having been lucky enough to meet him a couple of times when I was in my early 20’s & being a frustrated drummer myself, he was such a humble guy considering his talent & it was such a touching tribute that Paul wrote on The Crossing liner notes.
Also I agree with Paul on his Q & A regarding ‘Won’t look Back’ my fave track of Paul’s ‘a real hair stand up on back of the back track’ everything about that track is just perfection!
Also, really enjoyed my 1st Los Paciminos gig at Robin Bilston in March, Great music & great night & will be there again next March!
Once again, thank you for the reply.

Hi, i absolutely agree with mr. Was….Jeff Porcaro was The Drummer! and not only just that…
The Crossing is my fav Paul Young’s record…great tunes, wonderful and inspired lyrics, great vocals and great musicianship…plus Jeff and his magic touch! Can’t wait to listen to all the tunes in Tomb of memories that i’ve just ordered on Amazon!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful music with us, Paul!
        Happy Holidays!!

Having just received my copy today and just listened to some of CD 1 & 3 have to say what a brilliant idea this CD was and that I shall be listening to it on repeat. Seriously nearly had to get the box of tissues out when I got to ‘Wasting my time’ in a really nice way took me straight back to my teenage years listening to this on vinyl in my room. Have to say sound quality is awesome in comparison to my Dad’s old Decca record player back in the day, although there was something really cool about watching the record drop and the needle moving across. You know what this means now though Paul, a special one off Tomb of Memories gig!
