‘No Parlez’ UK Tour

35 Years of ‘No Parlez’

Paul is performing his much-loved album No Parlez on tour in the UK this autumn, in celebration of 35 years since its release!

No Parlez was Paul’s debut album. It reached number 1 in the UK charts in 1983 for 5 weeks and fast became triple Platinum. The album produced Paul’s first UK number 1 single – The Marvin Gaye cover of Wherever I Lay My Hat and hits Come Back & Stay and Love of The Common People. The album also features a cover of Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart.

Originally in early 80’s band Q-Tips, Paul Young went solo in the 80’s and his career took off with No Parlez and further top 10 hits such as Everytime You Go Away and Everything Must Change. He is also a Brit Award winner for Best Male vocalist, sings the opening lines on the original Band Aid Single Feed The World and performed at Live Aid in 1984. Paul is a keen chef, biker and fan of all things Mexicana! A family man, always happy to be touring his classic hits as a solo artist or with his Tex Mex/ Americana band Los Pacaminos.

You can buy tickets for all Paul’s gigs through the links on this website. Just navigate to the Events page and choose your venue!

    Dear Paul,
We were dying to see you in Enschede (NL) in November – both last year and this year- and now you are not coming. Instead you will be touring in UK. I have very fond memories of you/your album No Parlez. My sister was your biggest fan and by proximity so were we, her siblings and friends. The second cancellation of your show is a major downer after we had built up a lot of anticipation as the concert would coincide with my sister’s 50th birthday. So please come back and stay..and make it up to her.
    Kind regards

We have just announced the re-assignment of the postponed European shows, with one amendment to be made, I hope you can make it to one of them!

Would Paul sign my original no parley album at the lighthouse poole if I took it there. I did get grounded for 2 weeks for going to Manchester to see him in concert 35 years ago lol.

If time allows, it would be possible. Either speak to a member of staff or wait at the backstage door

Dear Paul, When are you coming to Perth again? I saw you in 1986 I think it was at the Entertainment centre and at The Astor theatre a couple of years ago. I think you are just lovely. I still have my old cassettes of No Parlez and Secret of Association. I love watching you on you tube. I’m very sorry to hear about your wife xxx Anne

I played in Perth a couple of years ago with Go West, so no immediate plans. Keep checking my social media!

Yes I went along and you and Nik Kershaw were fantastic. Oh 😞, my 82 year old dad rang me and said he heard that bloke I used to plaster posters from Smash Hits all over my bedroom walls is coming to Perth. He got it wrong, it’s John Paul Young coming to Perth instead, he’s an Australian artist. I just thought it would be loved by your Perth fans if you brought your 35th No Parlez tour here…even if you didn’t do Perth but went to Melbourne or Sydney I would travel!

  10. Anne - August 14, 2018 3:19 am

My 82 year old dad told me he heard you were coming to Perth again soon; I got my hopes up. But I googled and found out its actually John Paul Young coming. “Love is in the air” He’s an Australian based singer but born in Scotland. I get a bit frustrated when people mix you 2 up! But I can forgive my dad cos of his age. Would love if you brought your No Parlez 35th tour here, even if you won’t do Perth as we’re quite small I would travel to other major cities in Australia to see you!

  11. Melissa - September 1, 2018 7:18 pm

Can’t wait to see you in Dallas with Midge Ure and Nite next week!

  12. LR - September 2, 2018 7:40 pm

Are the FWT’s in the line up too?
I remember seeing them sing with PY on the Christmas 1983 tour.
    Hammersmith Odeon 23rd December 1983.
It was televised by the Old Grey Whistle Test the next evening.
